Fan / convection oven: set about 325°F (163°C) — roughly 20°C / 25°F lower, and check ~10 minutes early.
Quick reference & how these are set
Fahrenheit and Celsius convert with the exact formulas °C = (°F − 32) × 5⁄9 and °F = (°C × 9⁄5) + 32. Gas mark follows the standard UK Regulo scale, where Gas Mark 1 = 275°F (140°C) and each mark up adds about 25°F (roughly 15°C).
| Gas Mark | °F | °C | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 275 | 140 | Very slow / low |
| 2 | 300 | 150 | Slow |
| 3 | 325 | 170 | Moderately slow |
| 4 | 350 | 180 | Moderate (most baking) |
| 5 | 375 | 190 | Moderately hot |
| 6 | 400 | 200 | Hot |
| 7 | 425 | 220 | Hot / roasting |
| 8 | 450 | 230 | Very hot |
| 9 | 475 | 240 | Very hot / searing |
Gas mark and °C figures are the conventional rounded oven values (ovens don't hold single-degree precision). The fan-oven reduction of about 20°C / 25°F is the standard manufacturer and cookbook guidance; always check your appliance manual and watch the food, not just the dial.
